Christensen , <br /> J . M. Eva , E . A. Fletcher , Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones , G . W. McNulty , Mayor Paul A. <br /> McCarthy , and City Clerk B . E . Myers . <br /> The minutes of the meeting of March 21 were approved on motion of Councilman Hohn , <br /> seconded by Councilman Fletcher . <br /> The City Manager reported the opening of bids for work on Valota Road and recommended <br /> awarding the contract to W. 0 , Tyson , the lowest bidder , his figure being $4 , 208 . 70 , <br /> itemized as follows : Grading-Cutting , 512 Cu. Yds . , 0 . 25; Grading-Filling , 387 Cu . <br /> Yds . , 0 . 10 ; Macadam Pavement , 63 , 200 Sq . Ft . , 0 . 0625; ig" Galy . Tyson 4 , 20g . 70 <br /> Palo Alto Road Materials Co . 5 , 313 . 85 <br /> Following; the recommendation of the City Manager , the contract was awarded to <br /> W. 0 . Tyson on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br /> The City Manager in a communication to the Council called attention to the delinquent <br /> berth rent account of Mr . George Kneese at the Yacht Harbor , explaining that the <br /> boat had been used by Mr . L . F . Bosshardt for the purpose of training young men <br /> for service in ,the Merchant Marine . The City Manager suggested that inasmuch as <br /> Mr. Kneese was donating the use of the boat and that Mr . Bosshardt , in addition <br /> to donating his time , could hardly afford to pay the expense of the berth fee , <br /> the Council waive the charge against the Kneese boat now delinquent and until <br /> further notice . To this the Council agreed on motion of Councilman Fletcher , <br /> seconded by Councilman Eva , leaving the matter in the hands of the City Manager. <br /> Councilmen McNulty and Jones reported what was done at a meeting of the Real Estate <br /> Board concerning the use of signs . It was understood that a committee from the <br /> Real Estate Board consisting of Werder , Witte , and Lambert was to confer with the <br /> City Attorney in an effort to work up a satisfactory ordinance . The attorney <br /> promised the ordinance by next meeting if the committee saw him in time . <br /> City Attorney Albert Mansfield presented to the Council the matter of a Trustees <br /> Petition in Bankruptcy for the confirmation of the sale of property in the <br /> matter of Horace B . Gardiner , also known as Horace B . Gardner , bankrupt , No . 26102-L <br /> in the Southern Division of the United States District Court for the Northern <br /> District of California; the property involved being a portion of what is commonly <br /> called Wharf Street in the City of Redwood City and on motion of Councilman Eva, <br /> seconded by Councilman McNulty, he was directed by the Council to oppose the con- <br /> firmation of the sale of the portion of the property described in the pettion and <br />
