381 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL April 18 , 1938 8 : 00 P . M. Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present : Councilmen L . C . Christensen , J . M. Eva, E . A. Fletcher , Wm. Hohn , R . N . Jones , G . W. McNulty , Mayor Paul A. McCarthy , and City Clerk B . E . Myers . The minutes of the meeting of April 4 were approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Jones . S . J . Tyson of Heffel ' s Bakery , 3189 Mission Street , San Francisco , asked to have his license reduced from $25 per year , claiming that it was more than that paid by certainother trucks entering Redwood City and considerably more than the business will justify . Although considerable discussion ensued, no action was taken to relieve the situation . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , the Council approved the applications and granted restaurant licenses to Alexander Beltramo , 2345 Middle- field Road , and Martin Wynne , 2321 El Camino Real . As requested in a letter to the Council , the firm of Grant and Hoffmann was granted a 60 day extension of time from May 1 in which to complete the contract for the paving of Hillview Avenue . This on motion of Councilman McNulty and Councilman Fletcher , The City Collector submitted the following letter to the Council : "On April 9 , 193g , I was authorized by Councilman Eva to accept $178 . 69 for delinquent city taxes and street work on the following property instead of $207 . 13 as was actually due if the amount was paid in full : Lots 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 in Block 2 , Resub of Lot 48 Reese Tract (Arb . 241/10/11/12/13) Assessed to L . F . Lewis . The segregation is as follows: Delinquent Taxes $ 49 . 10 Delinquent Weed Tax 7 . 72 Delinquent Bond J-14 62. 58 Current Taxes ) Current Bond J-14 ) 15 . 10 Bond J-14 (not yet due ) 6 . 74 Resolution M-5 20 . 00 Penalty & Cost 45 . 89 $207 . 13 On April 12 , 1938 , a check was received in the amount of $178 . 69 . Will you please confirm the above authorization? " On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the authorization requested was given. The Building Inspector filed with the Council the following letter: "There is a frame dwelling on the NW .? of Lot $ Block 8 , in Oak Knoll Manor , known as 235 Hillview Aare . which is in a dilapidated and insanitary condition and should be condemned and demolished . This dwelling was built before our present building ordinance and could not be repaired or added to under present regulations . Permission is respectfully requested to have this building demolished .
