382 <br /> On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Hohn, it was ordered that a <br /> letter be sent to the owner of the property as well as the agent representing the <br /> owner asking them to show cause why the building mentioned should not be removed . <br /> James Gorman , 620 Roosevelt , appeared before the Council to complain concerning the <br /> dilapidated and insanitary condition of an old building at 1032 Fulton Street . <br /> From the discussion , it seemed desirable to have the building removed and on motion <br /> of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Jones , the Clerk was ordered to <br /> send a notice to the owner , Joe Libonati of 1082 14th Street , San Francisco , ask- <br /> ing him to show cause why the building should not be removed . <br /> The Planning Commission , by its secretary , filed a letter recommending that the Council <br /> grant a building permit for a cash and carry ice dispensary and storage station to <br /> be built on the westerly side of El Camino Real at Hopkins Avenue in charge of Al . <br /> Kendrick and A. W. Loder . Permit granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded <br /> by Councilman Jones . <br /> Roscoe D . Wyatt for the Chamber of Commerce filed a letter recommending that the city co- <br /> operate with the Mission Trails Association to the extent of $100 for advertising <br /> purposes . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , <br /> it was decided to contribute $100 towards this purpose , and the Clerk was instructed <br /> to notify the association . <br /> Mayor McCarthy for the committee consisting of himself , H . A . Beeger , and City Attorney <br /> Mansfield , in a communication to the Council , reported concerning the acquisition <br /> of further property adjacent to the Port . His report referred particularly to the <br /> property of the Coast and Valley Warehouse Company , the owner of 10 acres adjoin- <br /> ing the present harbor property . It was proposed that a Present payment of $2500 <br /> be made , that an item in next year ' s budget amounting to $7500 be set up , and that <br /> a final $5000 payment be made on or before August 1 , 1939 . It was also understood <br /> that the corporation would grant a lease up to August 1 , 1939 , without additional <br /> compensation . The report was approved and ordered filed . On motion of Councilman <br /> McNulty , seconded by Councilman Christensen , it was decided to have the City Attorney <br /> prepare the necessary papers to taste care of the transaction and the treasurer was <br /> authorized to make the initial payment of $2500 after the documents prepared by the <br /> attorney had been properly executed . <br /> Affidavits of Pwblica.tion in connection with the General Municipal Election of April 12 <br /> were ordered filed on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Chris- <br /> tensen .
