386 <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> MAY 2 , 193g <br /> g : 00 P . M. <br /> Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present : Councilmen Harold P. Anderson , <br /> E . A. Fletcher , Win . Hohn , Robert N . Jones , Paul A. McCarthy , Geo . W. McYulty , <br /> M=ayor L . C . Christensen , and City Clerk B . E . Myers . <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 18 , after slight change , were approved on motion of <br /> Councilman :McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hohn . <br /> A discussion was had concerning the insurance carried by Mr . Vandervort covering the <br /> operation of his bus . The certificate of insurance submitted showed a covering for <br /> public liability of only $5 , 000/10 , 000 with Lloyd ' s . This was not considered satis- <br /> factory from two standpoints ; ( 1 ) Lloyd ' s coverage , and ( 2 ) the amount . It was <br /> decided , on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman ?vcNulty , that <br /> the present insurance be accented provided the amount be changed to $50/100 , 000 and <br /> that the present coverage would continue only until satisfactory adjustment could <br /> be made with acceptable insurance carriers . <br /> C . G . Uhlenberg , special city auditor , submitted 3 conies of an accounting system report <br /> covering revised classification of accounts for the Port of Redwood City . As the <br /> content was more or less technical , the Council , on motion of Councilman McCarthy , <br /> seconded by Councilman Anderson , left the matter in the hands of City Manager Dimmitt , <br /> H . A . Beeger of the Port Commission , and the City Treasurer . <br /> The Clean Up Committee , by its chairman and secretary , in a letter dated May 2 , requested <br /> the Council to institute condemnation proceedings against the following; structures : <br /> Barn - 1300 block Middlefield Road <br /> Shack- 936 Fulton <br /> House & Shed- 331 Heller <br /> Building;- 2061 Broadway <br /> It was decided , on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Anderson , <br /> to receive and file the letter , and the clerk was instructed to notify the owners <br /> to show cause why the Particular buildings should not be removed . The Building <br /> Inspector was also asked to make a retort as to the condition of the buildings . <br /> Letters were received from the First National Bank and the American Trust Company asking <br /> that a portion of the funds of the city be deposited in the respective banks . On <br /> motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Anderson , the treasurer was <br /> authorized as follows , the changes to be made as soon as convenient : <br /> ( 1 ) Deposit with the First National Bank $20 , 000 for the inactive account <br /> and transfer the accounts of the Port and the Library to this bank . <br /> ( 2 ) Deposit wits" the American Trust Company $20 , 000 in the inactive account <br /> and maintain sufficient funds in an active account to take care of all <br /> city expenditures other than the Pay roll which would be left with the <br /> Bank of America as at present . �- <br />
