<br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING
<br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br /> AUGUST g , 193g
<br /> 10 : 00 A . M.
<br /> Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present : Councilmen- H. F . Anderson,
<br /> E. A. Fletcher , Wm . Hohn , Paul A . McCarthy , and City Clerk B . F . Myers ; absent ,
<br /> Mayor L. C . Christensen, Councilmen Robert N . Jones and Geo . W. McNulty.
<br /> In the absence of Mayor Christensen, on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by
<br /> Councilman Fletcher , Councilman McCarthy was chosen to serve as chairman.
<br /> There being no protests filed , on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Council-
<br /> man Fletcher , there was ordered filed affidavits of Publication of Resolution
<br /> of Intention No . 193g-4 and also affidavit of Posting Notices of Improvement .
<br /> Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , proposed adoption of the
<br /> following Resolution. Carried.
<br /> "RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK NO . igig-4"
<br /> "RESOLVED , THAT WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City did ,
<br /> on the lgth day of July , 1938 , pass and adopt Resolution of Intention No .
<br /> 193g-4 to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvements
<br /> to be made in said City of Redwood City; and
<br /> WHEREAS , notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No .
<br /> 1938-4 , headed "NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT" , were duly and regularly posted
<br /> along the line of said contemplated work and improvements and in front
<br /> of all the property liable to be assessed therefor , and on all of the
<br /> streets in the district to be assessed therefor , in time , form , manner
<br /> and number as required by law, as appears from the affidavits of C . L.
<br /> Dimmitt , Superintendent of Streets of the City of Redwood City, and Lisle
<br /> Winter , and now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City; and
<br /> WHEREAS , it appears from the affidavit of Vera M. Clements , that said
<br /> Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4 was duly and regularly published as re-
<br /> quired by law and order of the Council of the City of Redwood City in the
<br /> Redwood City Tribune , a daily ( except Sunday ) newspaper , published, printed
<br /> and circulated in the said City of Redwood City ; and
<br /> WHEREAS , in and by said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4 and the
<br /> notices of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid , said Council of the
<br /> City of Redwood City fixed Monday , the Sth day of August , 193g , at the
<br /> hour of 10 : 00 o ' clock A. M. of said day , at the meeting place of said
<br /> Council , in the Council Chamber in the Firehouse on Middlefield Road in
<br /> said City of Redwood City , County of San Mateo , State of California, as
<br /> the day , hour and place when and where any and all persons having any
<br /> objections to the proposed work and improvements described in said Resolu-
<br /> tion of Intention No . 1938-4 , or to the grades at which said work and im-
<br /> provements are to be done , or to the district proposed to be assessed for
<br /> said work and improvements , could appear before said Council and show
<br /> cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out
<br /> in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4 , or why said
<br /> proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the
<br /> proposed grades as shown on the plans , profiles , detailed drawings and
<br /> specifications referred to in said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4
<br /> and now on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City; and
<br /> WHEREAS , at the day , hour and place aforesaid , when and where any and
<br /> all persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements
<br /> described in said Resolution of Intention No . 1938-4 , or having any ob-
<br /> jections to the district to be assessed therefor , or having any objections
<br /> to the proposed grades at which said work and improvements are to be done
<br /> and made , could appear before the Council of said City of Redwood City and
<br /> show cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried
<br /> out in accordance with Resolution of Intention No 1938-4 , or why said
<br /> proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the
<br /> proposed grades as shown on the plans , profiles , detailed drawings and
<br /> specifications referred to in said Resolution of Intention No . 193g-4 and
<br /> now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City, no
<br /> person or persons appeared and no objections of any kind were made against
<br />
