MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REDWOOD CITY AUGUST 29 , 8 : 00 P . REGULAR MEETING COUNCIL 1938 -M . Upon roll call the following were present : Councilmen H . F . Anderson, E . A . Fletcher , Wm . Hohn, R. N . Jones , P . A . McCarthy, G . W. McNulty, Mayor L . C . Christensen, and City Clerk B . E . Myers . The minutes of the adjourned regular meetings of August 22 and 23 were approved on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson . There was read a letter from Mrs . S . E . Underhill , owner of property on Stambaugh Street , requesting that Cedar Street be opened and continued from Stambaugh to Hilton Street . The Clerk was instructed to write Mrs . Underhill that the City was without funds to do the work , and that it would be too expensive to place the burden on the property owners , The City Tax Collector submitted the following letter : "On August 15 , 1938, City Manager C . L . Dimmitt recommende4 that the sum of :1'927. 73 be accepted in settlement of the charges on the following property instead of 01611 . 59 actually due if the total amount was paid in full . The property re- ferred to is Arbitrary Block 270 , Lot 5 or legal description Lots 1-2 , Block B , Boyd & Kent Addition , assessed in the name of G . Bulleri and wife , who reside at 103 Hemlock Avenue . Delinquent Taxes $ l4 . 8/ " Assessment K-4 1124 . 80 Tax Penalty-cost 21 . 31 Bond Assessment Penalty 311 .20 Balance on Bond Assessment (not yet due) Principal 130 . 32 Interest 9 . 12 Total f1641 . 59 Bond Series K-4 was issued on November 19 , 1928 in the amount of Principal x'1303 . 22 and Interest $561 .47, making a total of $1864 . 69 . On June 15 , 1936 , Mr . Bulleri began making monthly payments on the delinquent amount and to date has paid the sum of 0460 . 23 , this being credited to tax, bond assessment and penalty. Till you please confirm the above authorization? " Authorization as requested was given . There was read a letter from E . J. Patterson, Secretary of the Communist Party of San Mateo County , asking that the Communist party be allowed to hold a public meeting in the Council Chamber on the evening of September 28 . Permission granted on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher . On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Anderson , the City Manager was authorized to arrange for a booth at the County Fiesta at a cost not to exceed $,50.
