445 interest at the rate of 3 1/4. per cent per annum, to date of delivery , and a premium of x`530 . 2 . - That all bids except the bid of THE ANGLO CALIFORNIA NATIONAL BANK are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to re- turn to the unsuccessful bidders their several checks accompanying their respective bids . 3 . - That said P50 , 000 principal amount of Series B bonds of said issue , shall bear interest at the rate of 3 1/4 per cent per annum , payable semi- annually as aforesaid , and the City Clerk is directed to cause to be litho- graphed , printed or engraved a sufficient number of blank bonds and coupons of suitable quality, said bonds and coupons to show on their face that the same bear interest at the rate aforesaid . . That I have carefully compared the same with the original minutes of said meeting on file and of record in my office and that said resolution is duly entered of record in Book 17 of Minutes , at pages AAA to 4/.5 , inclusive , and said resolution is a full , true and correct copy of the original resolution adopted at said meeting and entered in said minutes . " In connection with the proposed work at the Harbor and other construction in Redwood City , the point was raised as to whether local men were employed . It wss deemed desirable wherever possible , to engage the services of local mechanics , and the City Manager , on motioq of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , was requested at all times to give preference to local men and try to get the cooperation of all local unions so that their members might be employed . There was ordered filed a resolution from the Port Commission requesting the Council to proceed with the further work at the Port and to advertise for bids for doing the proposed construction .
