450 <br /> situated on what is commonly known as the extension of Cedar Street in Redwood <br /> City, also described as "Behren ' s barn" ; said property being described in the <br /> notice so posted and mailed as aforesaid , a copy of said description being <br /> attached with said notice to the affidavit of said Building Inspector . Mr . C . <br /> Drathman was sworn in said matter and testified that he was familiar with the <br /> location of the property and the buildings and structures thereon and that he <br /> had posted and mailed notice as aforesaid and that the buildings on said prop- <br /> erty were in a dilapidated condition, were not suitable for occupancy for any <br /> purpose and were not occupied and that in his opinion said buildings could <br /> not be repaired and should be removed ; that said buildings were a fire hazard <br /> and were a breeding place for rodents . George F . Paul was also sworn in said <br /> matter and testified that he had ascertained the ownership of said property <br /> and a description thereof which description is the description set forth in <br /> the Notice to Abate Nuisance . <br /> Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed the adoption of <br /> resolution declaring the buildings and structures on the property in question <br /> to be a nuisance and directing the owners to abate the same within thirty ( 30) <br /> days from the passage of the resolution and in case of the failure of the owners <br /> so to do , directing the Building Inspector to abate said nuisance by removing <br /> and tearing down said buildings . <br /> There was also filed affidavit of C . Drathman showing that he had posted on the prop- <br /> erty effected and also had mailed to the owners of the property a copy of a <br /> notice concerning the abatement of the property located at 2061 Broadway . No <br /> further action was taken, but hearing on the project was continued until Oct- <br /> ober 10 , 1938 , at 8 : 00 P . I.I . <br /> On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher , restaurant license <br /> for business at 2666 El Camino Real was given to Joseph A . Pockrus . <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson, license to conduct <br /> and operate a cigar store and poolroom at 2074 Broadway vas given to Joseph J. <br /> Viercke . This applicant had also made application for liquor license for On Sale <br /> beer and wine . The discussion of this was laid over until the next meeting . <br /> Following motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson , there was <br /> ordered filed affidavits of B . E . Myers , City Clerk, that sample ballots , pre- <br /> cinct cards , copy of ordinance calling special election , and publicity pamphlet <br /> had been properly mailed and that the election officers had been duly notified <br /> and that notice of election and nominees for public office had been duly pub- <br /> lished as required by law .
