69 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING RE MOOD CITY COUNCIL APRIL 16 , 193t S :OO P .M. Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor, W . J. Dusel , H. . A. Beeger, C . J. Hildebrant , R. N. Jones , C . G. Lanbert , Paul A. McCarthy, Geo . W . McNulty. City Clerk, B . E. Myers . Absent : None. The minutes of the meeting of April 2 were approved on motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McNulty. C. G. Uhlenberg, special accountant serving as outside auditor for the city, filed a letter indicating that the accounts of the city, the cash balances at the banks , and bonds de- posited as collateral, bad all been checked and satisfactorily accounted for . Alden Jack, c/o The Shearer Electric Service , 54 Devonshire Street , R. F .D . Redwood City, filed application for electrical contractor ' s license accompanied by the proper fee. On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the license was granted. Mrs . N. L. Miramontes , City Tax Collector, asked whether or not the Council wished to grant an extension of time for the payment of the second installment of taxes before assessing penalties . The matter was referred to the City Manager. The Redwood City Humane Society, in a written communication, asked the Council to contribute toward the expense of the pet show to be held in May. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the matter was laid over until the next meeting. The Clerk read quite a long report prepared by the City Manager covering the development of municipal activities in Redwood City since the adoption of the Charter in 1929 . On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , the report was ordered filed. Councilman McCarthy reported concerning his interview with the representative of the Pacific Greyhound Bus Lines in regard to the service through Redwood City and suggested that this matter be taken up at the next Council meeting. Ordinance No. 34S , regulating the hours of parking on Theatre Street and a portion of Hamilton Street , came up for final adoption. After filing affidavit of The Redwood City Tribune showing publication , the Ordinance was adopted by unanimous vote , on motion of Councilman Hildebrant , seconded by Councilman McNulty. Full text on page 176 of Ordinance Book No . 3 . Councilman Lambert explained that the idea had been to create a rather large committee to handle the affairs of the Emerald Lake Bowl , but that before the committee had been formed arrangements had been made to have the Boy Scouts ' Band play there on the afternoon of April 29 , and he had taken it upon himself to give permission for this concert . He asked that the Council go on record as approving it , which was done on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones . The departmental reports were ordered filed. The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fildebrant .
