Beeger , the Building Inspector and City Engineer were appointed as a committee with <br /> instructions to confer with San Francisco and other City Officials , and to conduct a <br /> survey of all school and public buildings in Redwood City, and report back to the <br /> Council their recommendations as to what should be done to make buildings earthquake <br /> quake <br /> resistant or to eliminate earthquake hazards . <br /> Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , moved the adoption of the following <br /> Resolution which was unanimously carried. <br /> RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City approve <br /> and endorse the action of Honorable John J. McGrath, Member of the Congress <br /> of the United States from the Eighth District of California, in urging a joint <br /> use of transbay bridge tracks and other facilities by Southern Pacific Company <br /> and Western Pacific Railway Company between Niles and San Francisco , California, <br /> via Redwood City; <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED that the welfare of the peninsula between San Francisco <br /> and San Jose would be promoted by providing entry of Western Pacific Railway <br /> Company into San Francisco via the peninsula to the south thereof. <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this reolution be sent to Honorable John J. <br /> McGrath and to other municipalities on the peninsula. <br /> On motion of Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant , it was ordered that the <br /> safe deposit boxes of the City of Redwood City , at the Bank of America, Redwood City <br /> Branch, and the First National Bank of San Mateo County, be opened only in the presence <br /> of B. . E. Myers , City Treasurer , and either or both fit . J. Dusel , Mayor, and E. A. Rolison , <br /> City Manager. <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br /> Beeger. <br /> Adjournment. <br /> j) ‘ r <br /> City Clerk <br /> BEM:MR <br />
