J . Dusel , H. A. Beeger , C . J . <br /> Hildebrant , R. N. Jones , C . G . Lambert , P . A. McCarthy , Geo . W. McNulty , City Clerk, B . E. <br /> Myers . Absent : None . <br /> Minutes of February 20 were approved by Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty . <br /> Joe . A. Abramopoulos , Veteran, asked for a free license to peddle , once a week, hams , bacon and <br /> pickles at wholesale to restaurants . L. Eisner , Veteran , asked for free license to distribute <br /> at wholesale electrical supplies to dealers . As both these men would compete with others who <br /> are paying the full truck license , it was deemed expedient to postpone decision and refer the <br /> matter to the license committee of the Chamber of Commerce , which was done on motion of <br /> Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman McNulty . <br /> Frank S . Gooder asked permission to peddle without paying a license indicating that he was trying <br /> to make a meager living by selling oranges and apples . This matter , the Council took under <br /> advisement , but no formal action was taken . <br /> Hugh R. Israel asked permission to establish a stand at the Yacht Harbor for the purpose of selling <br /> soft drinks , candy and tobacco . Permission was given on motion of Councilman Hildebrant , <br /> seconded by Councilman Beeger , revocable at any time . In his remarks , Mr . Israel suggested <br /> the advisability of having certain life saving equipment at appropriate places , and this <br /> matter was referred to the City Manager . <br /> The application of the Apex Electric Company , 363 Fell Street , San Francisco , which was accompanied <br /> by a check for $25 . 00 and a $300. 00 bond , was favorably acted on , on motion of Councilman <br /> McNulty , seconded by Councilman Beeger , subject , however , to approval of the bond by the City <br /> Attorney . <br /> Mrs . M. E . Chapman , in a communication to the City Council , called attention to a large sign and <br /> high shrubbery along the highway on the property occupied by C . H. Holt and asked if something <br /> could be done . The Building Inspector told the Council that the sign had been put up without <br /> permit and in view of this circumstance , the Clerk was instructed to ask Mr . Holt to remove the <br /> sign . <br />
