Absent : City <br /> Clerk B . E . Myers . <br /> In the absence of the City Clerk, Councilman H . A. Beeger was appointed Clerk, protem, on motion <br /> of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Hildebrant . <br /> Following discussion , Councilman Lambert , seconded by Councilman McNulty , offered the following <br /> resolution , which was unanimously carried . <br /> RESOLVED that consideration of general convenience and <br /> advantage of Redwood City and its citizens will be best served <br /> by the selection of the Treasury Department of the United States <br /> as a site for a Post Office , of a location easterly of the Southern <br /> Pacific Railroad main line and that preference be given to the North <br /> East corner of Broadway and Main Street , and second preference be <br /> given to Jefferson Street site adjoining the Civic Center . <br /> WILLIAM J .
