t r <br /> 3 adopted at said election , the City Council shall determine <br /> prior to the issuance of the bonds authorized pursuant to either <br /> of said propositions , whether the City of Redwood City shall <br /> acquire the properties of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company <br /> by eminent domain proceedings or otherwise , in accordance with <br /> the object and purposes stated in said Proposition No . l , and <br /> if the Council shall issue and sell any of the bonds authorized <br /> to be issued pursuant to said Proposition No . 1 , said Council <br /> shall not thereafter issue or sell any of the bonds authorized <br /> to be issued for the objects and purposes stated in said Propo- <br /> sition No . 2 . <br /> If said Council shall determine to acquire , construct <br /> and complete an electric distribution system and shall issue <br /> any of the bonds authorized for the object and purpose stated <br /> in said Proposition No . 2 , then said Council shall not have <br /> authority to issue and sell thereafter any of the bonds authoriz- <br /> ed to be issued pursuant to said Proposition No . 1 . <br /> It is the object and purpose of this Ordinance , in <br /> the event both of said propositions designated as ItProposition. <br /> No . 1" and " Proposition No . 2" of Section 1 of this Ordinance , <br /> respectively , shall be authorized , to vest in the Council of the <br /> City of Redwood City the power and authority to determine whether <br /> said City of Redwood City shall acquire an electric distribution <br /> system by acquiring under eminent domain proceedings or other- <br /> wise the said properties of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company <br /> or by otherwise acquiring , constructing and completing an elec- <br /> tric distribution system on behalf of said City and its inhabi- <br /> tants , and to limit , under any circumstances , the aggregate <br /> principal amount of bonds which may be issued under either or <br /> .7. <br />
