ORDINANCE NO . 371 <br /> AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PERMITS TO SELL OR SOLICIT FOR THE SALE OF <br /> ANY GOODS , WARES OR MERCHANDISE IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR WHICH <br /> A PERMIT AND LICENSE IS NOT REQUIRED UNDER ANY ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY , <br /> AND FOR THE TAKING OF SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR NEWSPAPERS , PERIODICALS AND <br /> MAGAZINES OR SUBSCRIPTIONS OF ANY OTHER KIND , AND FOR THE COLLECTION <br /> OF MONEY , GOODS OR WARES FOR CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS IUD PURPOSES ; <br /> REGULATING THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH PERMITS ; AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY <br /> FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF . <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City does ordain as follows , <br /> to-wit : <br /> Section 1 . It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to <br /> sell or solicit for the sale of any goods , wares or merchandise for <br /> which a permit and license is not required under any ordinance of the <br /> City of Redwood City , or to solicit for the taking of subscriptions <br /> for newspapers , periodicals or magazines , or subscriptions for any <br /> other thing or book or for collecting money or goods or wares for <br /> charitable organizations or for charitable purposes without first <br /> securing a permit from the Police Department of the City of Redwood <br /> City authorizing such person so to do . <br /> All applications for a permit shall be in writing , giving : <br /> 1 . The name of the person ; <br /> 2 . Residence of said person ; <br /> 3 . What such person desires to do under such permit ; <br /> 4 . The firm , company , corporation or institution , if any , <br /> represented by such person , and the location thereof ; <br />
