ABAG has been working closely with cities on bringing awareness about the Bay Area
Water Trail, along with education and recognition about the health of the Bay through
the “Bay Day” designation (first Saturday in October).

On June 27, 2016, the City Council unanimously approved a Resolution in support of
the San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail. By supporting the “Bay Day”, in partnership
with ABAG and Save the Bay, Redwood City would be listed among dozens of other
cities in the Bay Area that are supporting these efforts.

ALTERNATIVES
Not approve the Resolution.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact as there are no application fees, nor site improvements
required.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378,
because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical change
in the environment.

CHRIS BETH
DIRECTOR PARKS AND RECREATION

MELISSA STEVENSON DIAZ
CITY MANAGER

ATTACHMENT:
1.
