Councilman Greenalch, who originated the motion, and Councilman Claire who <br />seconded the motion, withdrew the motion to direct staff to recalculate <br />rates to meet goals. <br />M /S: Greenalch /Claire to establish the following rates: 0 -15 units at <br />$1.21 per unit and 16 + units at $1.49 per unit during the period of <br />increased charges from San Francisco Water Department. <br />Discussion of the motion included explanations of other cities' water and <br />sewer rates and the proposed rates of $1.24 and $1.49 would move Redwood <br />City to the high end of water rates on the peninsula. <br />Councilman Greenalch, who originated the motion, and Councilman Claire who <br />seconded the motion, withdrew the motion to direct staff to recalculate <br />rates to meet goals and report back to Council. <br />M /S: Councilman Stangel/ to adopt resolution offered by staff. <br />Motion died for lack of a second. <br />M /S: Claire /Greenalch to refer back to staff for development of a new rate <br />proposal using the two -tier system, the over 15 unit cost not to exceed <br />$1.40 and the required revenue projections to include revenues from fines <br />and penalties.
