Peter Hughes, 18 Admiralty Place, Redwood City, Board of Directors Paul Sanfilipo, 138 Woodsworth Avenue, Redwood City, Board of Directors and First Vice President George Fakhouri, 555 Veterans, Redwood City, Chief Financial Officer The following Kiwani members addressed the Council describing history of Kiwanis Carnival operation in Redwood City; talks with the PCA, the mediation process; and advised that even though the Carnival was outside the scope of the PCA and its festival the Kiwanis would be willing to share the profits on a 25/75 basis: Philip Wang, 5 Miller Court, Redwood City Chuck Rigg, 298 Woodside Drive, Woodside Council Members questioned the speakers and discussed the history of carnivals during the Fourth of July celebration; the mediation process; and the need for an agreement between these two fine organizations. M /S: Greenalch /Claire to issue a permit to the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Club with a 25/75 profit share with the PCA with the City of Redwood City paying $500 to PCA, and the agreement to extend through three years. Discussion of the question ensued and Assistant City Manager Jean described an earlier tentative agreement offered during mediation which would keep the City out of the monetary agreement: A 30/70 profit share and the City waive the $250 per day parking fee charged to the Kiwanis and a three year agreement. This amendment was accepted by the originator and the second of the original motion. The amended motion read: M /S: Greenalch /Claire to issue a permit to the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Club with a 30/70 profit share with the PCA, the City of Redwood City will waive the $250 /per day parking fee, and the agreement to extend through three years; and if this agreement is not signed by the PCA, then the Kiwanis Club may apply for the Permit without including the PCA in shared profits. Carried by the following vote: AYES: Council Members Claire, Greenalch, Murray and Mayor La Berge NOES: Council Members Buchan and Bury MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -164 21a. Discussion to set joint meeting date with Redwood City Council and Port Commission per Charter Section 47g (302 -03) CONSENSUS: Mayor La Berge determined it to be the consensus of the Council to schedule the joint meeting with the City Council and the Board of Port Commissioners for early January.
