M /S: Stangel /Greenalch to appoint Councilman Murray as Redwood City <br />member and Mayor La Berge as alternate to the City /County Association of <br />Governments <br />Carried by unanimous roll call vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -191 <br />17e. Councilman Greenalch responded to the letter from the residents of the <br />400 block of Clinton Street requesting increased police patrols to <br />control unacceptable activity of some students in the area advising the <br />matter had been referred to the Redwood City Police Department. City <br />Manager Smith stated the Council would be updated. <br />MEMO 12/11/90 <br />17f. Councilman Murray congratulated Parks and Recreation Director Peter <br />Griffiths for the very informative newsletter on Union Cemetery. <br />17g. Mayor La Berge described the Council of Cities subcommittee studying <br />County booking fees and the North County jail facility. Councilman <br />Stangel will represent Redwood City and update the Council. <br />17h. Mayor La Berge expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to attend <br />the National League of Cities annual meeting in Houston, December 1 -4 <br />which focused on ethnic diversity, growth management and community <br />activism, themes that are very important to Redwood City. <br />STAFF REPORTS <br />18. The Door Christian Center - Issuance of a Use Permit. Public hearing held <br />on November 19, 1990 to hear two appeals. Public hearing was closed and <br />item continued to December 10, 1990. (203 -10) <br />Report: Planning Director, November 19, 1990 <br />Planninq Director Patterson presented the staff report and advised Council <br />traffic studies were unavailable as Arguello Street was barricaded due to <br />street work, and the parent company, after being contacted twice, had not <br />responded to questions regarding their tax status. <br />M /S: Murray /Bury to uphold the appeal of the Zoning Administrator's <br />decision to issue a Use Permit filed by Julie L. Leeson of Franciscan <br />Property Management representing the Parc Maison Townhome Owners <br />Association, appellants, based on the following findings: 1) The Door <br />Christian Center has failed to verify the quasi - public nature or status <br />of the use; 2) the use of the property, as proposed, would cause a <br />parking and traffic congestion problem in the area; and 3) the use in so <br />far as it would inherently add to noise and increase sound level in the area <br />would be inconsistent with the residential use in the vicinity of the <br />property. <br />f1I "JUTE BOOK N0. 50 Reg.
