copy
Environmental Setting, Impacts and Mitigation Measures, (4) Port hereby finds that the
Final SEIR correctly identifies three significant unavoidable impacts of the Project
described therein that cannot be feasibly mitigated by the Port and, moreover, that such
mitigation is not within the control of Port, as set forth on page 5-1 of the Final SEIR,
CEQA Statutory Sections, and (5) Port hereby finds that there are overriding social,
economic, and physical considerations justifying approval of the Project described in the
Final SEIR.
This Board hereby finds that the following economic, legal, social, technological,
or other benefits of the Project outweigh the foregoing significant effects on the
environment for which mitigation measures or alternatives identified in the Final SEIR
are infeasible or, if available, will not eliminate or reduce such impacts to a level of
insignificance.
(a) The Project will provide necessary economic development and related
employment opportunities.
(b) The Project will fulfill the Port's need for new facilities to accommodate the
steady growth in cargo throughput that the Port has experienced over the past 10 years.
(c) The economic benefits of the Project include more appropriate use of usable
properties for the Port of Redwood City.
(d) Maritime commerce benefits include not only local benefits through the
provision of land for industrial-related future tenants of the Port and associated jobs, but
also enhancement of both national and international maritime commerce, which purposes
the Port serves.
shared1PorttReso
DS 6 RESO P-2324
09/14/16 sR,^ tt‘te
tea.
