B. Internal Staff Development <br /> 3 Sessions Annually <br /> PCRC will provide a customized training or strategic planning/strategic capacity building <br /> opportunities for supervisory personnel, public contact employees and department <br /> managers on a topic that may include theory and practice of interest-based conflict <br /> management, public engagement, dealing with challenging behaviors, relationship building <br /> methods, outreach strategies and other facilitative designs and processes, with technical <br /> assistance present or facilitation skills. <br /> C. Police Community Relations Support <br /> 3 sessions annually <br /> Provide customize 3 trainings for the Citizen's Academy participants regarding community <br /> engagement, facilitation, communication and conflict resolution. <br /> D. Resident Capacity Building <br /> As the new Deputy City Manager begins to determine the City priorities PCRC will offer <br /> consultation regarding liaison program and neighborhood association to support for <br /> continuity from previous liaison program work. <br /> Ill . Additional Services - available for an additional fee with a written Amendment of this <br /> Agreement <br /> 1) Special Training: PCRC offers orientations to city staff about the mediation program and its <br /> services as part of the basic contract. In addition, there are training opportunities for <br /> supervisory personnel, public contact employees and department managers that include <br /> theory and practice of interest-based conflict management, negotiation, mediation and <br /> facilitation skills. <br /> 2) Conflict Assessment/Consultation: PCRC can assist cities, as well as local community <br /> organizations/groups to assess specific conflict situations, analyze concerns of stakeholders <br /> and develop strategies for pro-active and interest based conflict resolution. PCRC utilizes its <br /> staff, volunteers, professional mediators and local representatives in this assessment <br /> process. The conflict assessment process usually involves third party neutral contact with <br /> stakeholders to gather input and provide information about interest-based conflict <br /> resolution. <br /> 3) Multi-party Mediation Services: PCRC can provide mediation services to intact groups or in <br /> conflict situations with multiple stakeholders. After an initial consultation and planning <br /> process, PCRC staff or skill volunteer mediators will help the parties work together to <br /> resolve their dispute and establish positive future steps. <br /> 4) Conflict Resolution System Design: PCRC can assist organizations in building internal conflict <br /> resolution capacity, i.e. the development of policies and procedures for interest-based <br /> dispute prevention and early resolution.
