8.3.B. - Page 88 <br /> 19.3 City's Contribution to Retirement System <br /> The City shall pay the rate prescribed by the Public Employees' Retirement System for <br /> employer contributions to the Public Employees' Retirement System in accordance with <br /> the rules and regulations governing such employer contributions. <br /> In accordance with Government Code Section 20516(f): <br /> Effective the first full pay period beginning on or after September 1, 2-4142416, <br /> employees in the classification of Police Sergeant Level hail unit members-shall pay a <br /> total of three five percent (3-5%) toward the employer cost of retirement, in addition to <br /> the full required member contribution required for their respective benefit formula. <br /> Effective the first full pay period beginning on or after ratification and approval of this <br /> MOUSeptember 112017, all other unit members shall pay a total of three seven percent <br /> (37%) toward the employer cost of retirement, in addition to the full required member <br /> contribution required for their respective benefit formula. <br /> The All such employee contributions .._ .- _ . - • ..-• --T. _ - _• e <br /> toward employer cost of retirement will be made on a pre-tax basis and shall not be <br /> credited to the employee account at Ca1PERS and shall not be reimbursed to the <br /> contributor by the City at any time for any reason. <br /> If the Redwood City Police Officers' Association contribution toward the employer cost <br /> of retirement steps—is reduced in the future, then it shall stop be reduced by the same <br /> amount and at the same time for the-PSA members and the contract provisions regarding <br /> contribution to retirement system shall be reopened for negotiation. <br /> If beginning on or after the first full pay period of September 1, 2013, the employer rate <br /> for retirement for the bargaining unit is Iess than thirty-seven percent (37%), the <br /> employee contribution toward the employer cost of retirement will be reduced by one <br /> percent(1%) for each full one percent reduction in the employer rate below 37%. <br /> 19.4 Employee's Contribution to Retirement System <br /> Each employee will pay the Employee's Contribution to the Public Employee's <br /> Retirement System in accordance with the rules and regulations governing such <br /> contributions. <br /> 19.5 414(h)(2)Internal Revenue Service Code <br /> The City shall implement the provisions of 414(h)(2) for the term of this MOU, so long <br /> as those provisions [414 (h)(2)] remain substantially the same, and so long as there is no <br /> additional cost to the employer for this 414 (h)(2) participation. In the event of such <br /> additional cost to the employer, the parties will meet and confer regarding alternative <br /> provisions. <br /> 42 <br />
