Staffing Plan and Employee Contracts CITY will maintain a PE Coordinator and appropriate number of coaching staff with the funds provided by SHD through this agreement. CITY will ensure that all coaches are LiveScan fingerprinted, and TB-tested, subject to the final approval of RCSD to work on school grounds. Coaches will be at least the age of majority, and have graduated from high school. Coaches will have either worked with children before or coached sports in other contexts and will all be trained to teach physical education using PE+ curriculum. CITY will be responsible for advertising, interviewing, and filling these positions. Contractual agreements, including consultant or employment agreements for staff, will be made through CITY. The amount of SHD funding allocated for PE Coordinator includes salary and benefits. if City offers salary and benefits above the funding amount established by SHD pursuant to this Agreement, SHD will not be responsible for funding these additional amounts. SHD will not be responsible for any salary, benefits, insurance or other employee costs and shall not be deemed to be an employer of the personnel hired by CITY. All staff supported through the Healthy Schools grant will share in the responsibilities for attaining the goals and objectives outlined in the program proposal. Input from relevant staff will be sought in the implementation and evaluation of this program. Vi. Distribution of Functions CITY's PE Coordinator and coaches will work with appropriate school staff to implement and support specific modules of the PE+ Program. The following staff positions and distribution of roles and responsibilities are outlined below: CITY PE+ Coordinator: The PE+ Coordinator supported through this grant will organize, implement, and provide on-site supervision of the PE+ program. This person is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating PE+ coaches and necessary personnel to ensure successful implementation of a safe and effective program. The PE+ Coordinator is also responsible for meeting with school administrators, teachers, partner organizations, and others as necessary to properly represent the CITY and the Program. The PE+ Coordinator will also be held responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting of Program curriculum and results. CITY PE+ Coaches: The parties understand that CITY's physical education coaches will work on site during regular school hours and under the direction of RCSD credentialed teachers. Physical education coaches help children develop physical abilities and healthy habits that can last for the rest of their lives. The PE+ coaches supported through this grant will organize games and challenges that promote physical activity among children in grades K-5. Their goal is to develop motor skills and physical development among younger children and proper exercise and eating habits among older children. PE+ coaches must also adjust their curricula to adapt to children with disabilities or different physical abilities.
