PRCS Target Schools — 2016-17 # K-5 Students Adelante .506 Garfield 442 Hawes 399 Henry Ford 421 Selby Lane 448 Objective 2 - Staff Recruitment and Retention: CITY will retain a PE Coordinator to manage CITY's part of the PE+ program. CITY will recruit for its program a team of PE coaches and conduct all hiring processes of staff including background and safety checks, as further described herein. CITY will retain proper numbers and levels of qualified staff to implement the program. Objective 3 - Staff Training: PROS will adequately train and prepare all staff coaches employed by CITY to deliver a PE program that strives to meet California State requirements and reinforces the joy of being active and healthy. PRCS will design, provide, and evaluate a year-round training program consisting of in- person training sessions and planning meetings that improves job-related skill development and competencies of coaches in the following areas: community and leadership development, teaching methods, program class curriculum, classroom management, and recess/lunch support expectations. PRCS coaching staff will be trained under the umbrella of the uPhysical Education Team." Coaches may be pulled from recess support if necessary to attend training one hour per week. Objective 4 - PE+ Curriculum: PROS will implement and assist in developing a comprehensive, planned, sequential PE+ curriculum designed to: 1 . meet a majority of California State Physical Education standards 2, meet physical, social, emotional, and learning needs of the students and provides students with the knowledge, attitudes, motor skills, behavioral skills, and confidence to participate in physical activity 3. cover nutrition, health, and social-emotional well-being topics in order to help students establish active, healthy lifestyles that continue into and throughout their adult lives 4. allows students to participate in a variety of sports, games, and activities 5. ensure a physical and social environment that enables safe and enjoyable participation in physical activity 6. uses evaluation information to update and improve the curriculum Objective 5 - Program Evaluation: All partners from PCC, PRCS, RCSD, and SHD will work together to develop and implement an evaluation plan that measures quality and impact. Partners will determine the desired outcomes of the program, adequately and continuously evaluate the program using quantitative and qualitative assessment tools such as fitness assessments and surveys, implement appropriate data collection and entry, use the information to improve and modify the program, ensure that positive changes and outcomes are sustained, and share the information with stakeholders in the following areas: • student physical fitness, social-emotional factors, nutrition measures, and satisfaction with PE+ • teacher/school official observations of student outcomes and satisfaction with PE+ Page 3 of 8 REV: 09-28-16 RL ATTYIAGR.2016.084/Sequoia Healthcare District
