easier to get out of a vehicle that is parallel parked (our guests and all the
church traffic on Sundays)
traffic also seems to flow even better most of the time and on most days.
(There are a few exceptions, but largely it flows better).
I have a suggestion for the intersection of McGarvey and Farm Hill. Could the
crosswalks be a pedestrian friendly color either painted or better yet a color
concrete? The visual cue would help reinforce the residential aspect of the street.
These elements typically help to remind people of the pedestrians around and that
they should slow down. Also it may help to reduce the cuing on McGarvey, if the
shoulder, on McGarvey, near the intersection to Farm Hill is changed to a right
hand turn lane (see google earth image below).
We thank you all for taking residents lives and property tax payers safety
seriously. We know that reduced speeds directly correlates with reduced risks of
fatalities in collisions and we thank you for that. If you could only stop people
from texting while they drive too, that would be great.
Thank you,
--
Jeff Missad AIA, LEED, NCARB
8.A. - Page 97
