STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />Establishment of expanded Business Improvement Area, disestablishment of <br />current Business Improvement Area No.1, and set Public Hearing for <br />March 11, 1991 to consider both i ssues C. ~<y~-~ 9 ) <br /> <br />REPORT: <br /> <br />Community Development Director, February 7, 1991 <br /> <br />City Manager Smith described this 5th and final strategy to enhance the <br />commercial, cultural and social viability of the city center area, and <br />suggested, that in a most significant degree, it is now up to the merchants <br />and the overall economy to affect the future of the downtown business area. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Pawloski presented the staff report and <br />described the benefit zones and assessments with a maximum of $1,000 per year, <br />and Michael Church, Redevelopment Agency Director, described the activities to <br />be funded by the assessments. <br /> <br />Council Members requested that the March 11, 1991 PUBLIC HEARING be well <br />publicized, that, again letters be sent to businesses in the proposed area, <br />and that trade associations be alerted. <br /> <br />MEMO 2/12/91 <br /> <br />a.
