<br />Council requested additional information at next meeting on water, March <br />18th: report on what other communities are doing, especially those who <br />receive their water from San Francisco; retain currently banked units and <br />propose banking modifications; explore Countywide approach; provide as <br />many alternatives as possible; Lower Lake is about to be drained and <br />water should be saved; and based on penalties assessed, identify current <br />water abusers, attach water restrictors, and report back to Council. <br /> <br />CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge that it was the consensus <br />of the Council to have the standing committee on water conservation, <br />Members Vice Mayor Bury, Councilwoman Buchan and Councilman Greenalch, to <br />meet with staff and prepare report to Council. <br /> <br />MEMO 3/5/91 <br /> <br />Manuel Sotomayor, 12 Riviera Circle, Redwood City, asked Council to <br />consider City wells to ease effects of the drought. <br /> <br />Staff advised City wells were closed over 30 years ago and would be too <br />expensive to reactivate; and, there are possible problems of <br />contamination and subsidence. <br /> <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Griffiths presented a <br />report on the impact of severe water restriction on Redwood City parks <br />and recreation facilities and advised a more detailed report would be <br />presented later on in March. <br /> <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />M/S: Stangel/Bury to adjourn to a Closed Session for purposes of discussion <br />of personnel matters. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote and Meeting adjourned at 10:35 p.m. <br /> <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />After motion duly made, seconded and carried the Study Session was <br />adjourned at 11:45 p.m. <br /> <br />~e~ <br /> <br />Arlyn C.
