Welcome and Introduction of Redwood City 2020 Coordinating Council <br /> Member~ - President Rumley welcomed the joint meeting participants, Oral <br /> Communications were added to the agenda. No speakers came forth at the time. <br /> <br />5. Redwood City 2020 Overview - Council Member Barbara Pierce provided an <br /> overview of Redwood City 2020 introducing members of the Coordinating Council <br /> and Operations Committee present. She reported that Redwood City 2020 focuses <br /> on four areas: <br /> · Early Care and Education <br /> · School-Based Health and Human Sen/ices <br /> · After-School Recreation and Enrichment <br /> · Youth Development. <br /> It was stated that the community benefits from nearly $5 million in programs for <br /> youth. <br /> <br />6. Joint Proclamatione Honoring: Shannon Couch & Morgan Marchbanks of <br /> Sequoia High School, and Edna Acri & Warren Sedar of Kennedy Middle School <br /> received proclamations and resolutions. <br /> <br /> Supervisor Rose Jacobs-Gibson and Redwood City Board Member Maria Diaz- <br /> Slocum presented proclamations/resolutions declaring that the above mentioned <br /> recipients had made extreme efforts in creating the Sequoia High School Teen <br /> <br />JOINT MEETING APRIL 25, 2002 <br />MINUTES Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
