MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Councilman Greenalch requested Legislative Committee to look at memo <br />received on Assembly Bill No. 434 regarding vehicle registration fees. <br /> <br />MEMO 5/22/91 <br /> <br />B. Councilman Greenalch reported on Samaritan House Spring newsletter <br />which thanked cities of Burlingame and Redwood City for renewed financial <br />commitment and they were joined by San Carlos, Belmont and Pacifica for the <br />first time. The spirit of concern was appreciated. <br /> <br />C. Councilwoman Buchan and Mayor LaBerge attended the first "Drug Free Zone <br />Kickoff" event held at Hoover School by the Boys and Girls Club. This <br />event culminated 6 months of hard work between people in the community and <br />the neighborhood and people in various agencies coming together for one <br />common purpose. <br /> <br />D. Councilman Murray reported on CitYICounty Association of Governments <br />meeting. Bay Vision 2020 current issues; whether the board should be <br />composed of locally elected officials, local control of land use and concept <br />of regional agency. Progress report on congestion management plan and <br />development of capital improvement program. Whipple Avenue will be the <br />number one project in county for the next stage of funding thru state <br />transportation improvement program. <br /> <br />MEMO 5/22/91 <br /> <br />E. Mayor LaBerge reported on delegation coming to Redwood City from Zhuhai City <br />City in China between June 13-16, 1991. Everyone is invited to the <br />fundraiser spaghetti dinner on May 29 at the Circle Star Theatre. <br /> <br />F.
