11. Department-wide Training <br />Initial training is provided by the vendor and includes “train-the-trainer” and assistance <br />during initial training sessions. <br /> <br />12. Pilot Deployment / Field Testing <br />The Monday – Thursday dayshift patrol team will test the BWC system for a one month <br />pilot program before deployment to the remaining workforce. <br /> <br />13. System Assessment for Complance with Vendor-Stated Capabilities <br />As we field-test the system, it is important to verify that all aspects of the system are <br />functioning as stated by the manufacturer or stipulated in the contract. This period <br />provides the proper analysis for proof of concept and proper functionality of the BWC <br />system. <br /> <br />14. Corrective Actions for Identified Problems <br />A 7% contingency fund of $3,500 is recommended in order to fund any corrective <br />actions identified during the pilot program field-test and analysis process. <br /> <br />15. Cell Phone Integration <br />As stated earlier, cell phones allow for video tagging at the end of a call and completion <br />of field reports incrementally throughout the shift, without having to return to the station <br />to access BWC video viewing software. Estimates provided included potential volume <br />purchasing prices and cost-effective data packages. <br /> <br />16. Full Deployment <br />The implementation strategy developed by the Department calls for full deployment on <br />day one. The reasons are twofold; first, the BWC equipment is individualized to the user <br />through unique employee email addresses for system security, video retrieval, and <br />retention schedule monitoring. Secondly, agencies who started with partial deployment <br />ran into problems with community outrage over events that were not captured by BWC <br />6.1.A. - Page 13
