MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Report from the Mobile Home Park Mediation Committee - June 24, 1991 <br />(301-25) <br /> <br />Ruben Barrales, Mediator, Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, presented the <br />report describing course of negotiations and limited agreement reached. <br /> <br />Carmen Flores, 298 Fuller Street, Attorney with Legal Aid Society, described <br />rent stabilization court cases and their impacts. <br /> <br />Marie Rickes, 3015 E. Bayshore, No. 161, Harbor Village Mobilehome Park <br />described her six year struggle with management of mobilehome parks to <br />protect mobile home ownership, and urged the Council to adopt a rent <br />stabilization ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilman Greenalch asked the City Attorney to begin work on a draft of <br />a rent stabilization ordinance that will stand the court test of legality. <br /> <br />MEMO 6/25/91 <br /> <br />Councilman Murray suggested this matter be referred to the Council <br />Legislative Committee for recommendations which then could be put to a vote <br />by the Council. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Bury, Chairman of the Council Legislative Committee, agreed to <br />accept this issue for Legislative Committee action. <br /> <br />MEMO 6/25/91 <br /> <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Councilman Murray reported on the passage of the CitYICouncil Association of <br />Governments budget of $2,000,000 based on a percentage for each City. More <br />than half of the budget is earmarked for the Integrated Waste Management <br />Plan which is funded by other than direct City contributions.
