EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
A. PROJECT UNDERSTANDING / HISTORY:
The City of Redwood City (City) has requested design services for the renovation of the
synthetic turf fields located at Marlin Park, and Sandpiper Field. The project scope is limited to
the turf areas and currently not to areas beyond the existing turf footprint at the two park sites.
As the work at each site is more than one acre, while there may be minimal subsurface
disturbance, it is anticipated that each project will qualify for an erosivity waiver. Verde will act
as the QSD and file NO1 and the erosivity waivers thru the SMARTS website for the two project
sites. If the erosivity waivers cannot be filed, a full SWPPP will be prepared, and filed thru the
SMARTS website for one or both of project sites as required. C.3 improvements will not be
required, as both projects are essentially recarpeting projects. Thus, no bio-treatment areas will
be included in the project.
Included in the scope is a geotechnical investigation and recommendations for the two
subgrade issues identified at Marlin Park only. This will address the issue of small mounds or
bubbles where the base has expanded upwards approximately 1 -3" in height. Surveying
services have not been included as part of the project scope at this time as the edges of the
field have held consistent and the design can provide prescriptive specifications for field
planarity requirements.
It is understood that the drainage on the two fields are performing adequately. This shall be
confirmed in some fashion, and can be accomplished thru visual confirmation, and if needed , in-
field percolation testing of the existing bases below the existing turf product.
B. SCOPE OF SERVICES
Verde Design proposes the following detailed scope of work based on the above stated project
description:
Task 1 : Project Start-up / Site Assessment
1 . Attend one kick-off meeting with City to discuss project, including budget, timeline and
parameters.
a. Communication of the project issues;
b. Setting up the project;
c. Developing the project work plan and develop a project schedule;
d. Review of the project budget and establishing a tracking and the parameters for
reporting project progress.
e. Visit and walk the two project areas to confirm the existing conditions and to receive
additional input from the City on desired site specific improvements.
f. Agenda and minutes of the meeting will be provided by Verde Design
2. Complete geotechnical investigative work at Marlin Park
3. Review as-built/record documents of project site and pertinent reports including the exhibits
referenced in the proposal.
REV: 10-17-16 VR
Page 10 of 15
ATTY/AGR.2016.299Nerde Design, Inc
