EXHIBIT "A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> CONSULTANTS' DUTIES: <br /> 1 . Consultant shall screen, hire, pay, and supervise qualified swimming coaches and lifeguards <br /> certified by national life-saving and/or swimming instructor associations to work at City's Herkner <br /> Swimming Pool (in pool, on pool deck, and within the building) during all times that City swim <br /> programs are in operation at Herkner Swimming Pool. <br /> 2. Consultant shall operate the pool beginning September 31 , 2016 to May 30, 2017. The <br /> consultant will provide recreational swimming for the community based on determination between <br /> City and consultant. Lifeguards and staffing at KSA, Inc. are at consultant's expense. <br /> 3. Consultant shall be responsible for opening and closing the Herkner Swimming Pool and shall <br /> take direction for operation of Herkner Swimming Pool from Parks Director or his or her designee. <br /> 4. Consultant will use keys issued during the Term of the Agreement per direction of the Parks and <br /> Recreation Department, and will pay for any lost keys and/or rekeying of the Herkner Swimming <br /> Pool if deemed necessary to regain security of the facility. All keys issued to Consultant will be <br /> returned at the termination of this Agreement. If keys are not returned Consultant will be charged <br /> for the costs incurred to City for replacement and/or rekeying. <br /> 5. Consultant will responsible for all costs associated with operation of Herkner Pool. This includes <br /> all energy (electricity and gas) costs; chemical costs; water fees; sewer fees; pool maintenance <br /> costs charged by the City; any custodial costs charged by the City; all equipment repairs, pool <br /> repairs and facility repairs based on improper use or other causing factors for Consultant's staff. <br /> Billing for use of pool (including all above) will be made on a quarterly basis. <br /> 6. The hours of operation for Herkner Swimming Pool which shall be operated by Consultant will be <br /> determined by demand from their programs. Pool being available for use Monday-Sunday's <br /> during the designated dates. <br /> 7. Consultant may access pool mechanical room for routine filter cleaning and for emergency shut- <br /> off purposes. Consultant shall notify City's Building Maintenance staff for all facilities-related <br /> failures (including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing) for instructions. <br /> 8. Consultant agrees to strictly adhere to City's daily checklist and prevent checklist of items before <br /> the Herkner Swimming Pool is opened each day for use. City shall provide checklists to <br /> Consultant. All records are to be maintained on binders/clipboards in the basket room at all <br /> times. <br /> 9. Offer low-cost adult lap swimming and open swim days and times agreed together by the City <br /> and consultant. The minimum shall be 6 hours per week. <br /> 10. Offer low-cost Senior Aqua Therapy and wellness classes agreed together by the City and <br /> consultant. The minimum shall be 4 hours per week. <br /> 11 . Create scholarship funds for disadvantaged Redwood City residents to take lessons at reduced <br /> price or free as determined by consultant. <br /> 12. Offer lifeguard certification classes on site <br /> 13.
