<br />2. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> <br />A. San Mateo County Government Center Ten-Year Master Plan presentation <br />(704-05) <br /> <br />Report: <br /> <br />Walter D. Callahan Letter, May 17, 1991 <br /> <br />Walter Callahan, San Mateo County Director of General Services presented a <br />detailed report of the Ten-Year Master Plan listing six (6) goals: <br /> <br />1) build a parking structure to provide adequate parking for employees, <br />jury members and visitors <br />2) increase office space to eliminate necessity for leased space <br />3) seismic renovation of old Court House and removal of annexes <br />4) provide permanent location of Lathrop House <br />5) create a campus atmosphere <br />6) relocate municipal court for safety and convenience <br /> <br />Director Callahan described proposed three (3) phases to achieve goals, <br />stating first phase is in process and financing in place; and, scheduling of <br />the last two phases will depend on financing. <br /> <br />In response to Council questions, Director Callahan described the need for <br />cooperation between the City and County to avoid the loss of on-street <br />parking for downtown customers; and the need to work together to establish <br />revenue plans for the County parking structure and City meters to achieve <br />this goal. <br /> <br />B.
