3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

A. Gail Leddy, 275 D Street, Redwood City, Chairwoman of the Centennial
Homeowners Association, advised Council that the Centennial Neighborhood
is suffering from excessive noise from planes taking-off and landing at
the San Carlos Airport due to the change in flight patterns as of October
1990.

The Council Committee for the San Carlos Airport, Councilmembers Buchan,
Greenalch and Murray, will work with Mrs. Leddy and the Centennial Task
Force in an effort to resolve the issue of mitigating airport related
noises by moving flight patterns from one neighborhood to another.

MEMO 7/23/91

B. James E. Neal, 909 Nob Hill Road, Redwood City, expressed concern
that the City is offering for bid and development, the City-owned
property at 929 Nob Hill Road, acquired by the City in 1968 after slide
damage. Mr. Neal asked Council to postpone any decision on the
disposition of the property until residents of the Nob Hill area could
present information against the sale.

In response to Council Members questions, City Attorney Schricker
described the stringent construction and development conditions that are
part of the bid documents, and advised that as of today, no bids have been
received.

C. Gladys Woodhams, 1018 Main Street, Redwood City spoke in opposition to
the County proposal to move Lathrop House from its current site in order
to build either a parking structure or a multi-story office building.

D. Patricia Dixon, 16 Admiralty Place, Redwood City, spoke in support of
recreational flying and the San Carlos Airport, and suggested the
Planning Commission resist approving large buildings that create restricted
flight patterns.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.
