<br /> (0.2 A-4 <br /> AMENDMENT TO <br /> COMPREHENSIVE STREET TREE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br /> [The Professional Tree Care Company] <br /> This Amendment is entered into and effective as of the 1 st day of September, <br /> 2004, amending the agreement dated August 13, 2001 (the "Agreement") by and <br /> between the City of Redwood City, a charter city and municipal corporation ("City"), and <br /> Arboricultural Specialties, Inc., dba The Professional Tree Care Company ("Contractor") <br /> (collectively, the "Parties") for comprehensive street tree maintenance. <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. On August 11, 2002, the City Council authorized extending Contractor's <br /> services for an additional year; changing the bid price of bid item number 10, Tree <br /> Watering, from $15 per tree to $65 per hour, and add the option for injecting trees with <br /> pesticides at $6.00 per injection point based on one injection point for eight inches of <br /> trunk circumference; and <br /> B. On August 25, 2003, the City Council authorized extending Contractor's <br /> services for an additional year; and changing the price of bid item number 2, emergency <br /> services, from $75 per hour to $130 per hour; and <br /> C. The Parties now desire to amend the Agreement to extend the Contractor's <br /> services for an additional year, reduce the scope of services from $294,450 to <br /> $217,095, and retain the option for an additional $50,000 of contract pruning services <br /> with an additional removal and pruning crew pending a property owner exercising a cost <br /> shared tree pruning option; and <br /> D. The Parties have negotiated and agreed to a supplemental scope of work <br /> and fee schedule to implement the desired changes, which is attached to this <br /> Amendment and incorporated by this reference as Exhibit "A," Scope of Services and <br /> Fee. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br /> contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. In addition to those services contained in the Agreement, as may have <br /> been amended from time to time, Contractor will provide those services described in <br /> Exhibit "A." <br /> 2. City will pay Contractor for all work associated with those services <br /> described in Exhibit "A, " two hundred seventeen thousand ninety-five dollars and no <br /> cents ($217,095.00).
