In fact, 79% of extremely low income renter <br />households have at least one severe housing problem. <br />In contrast, only about 56% of the extremely low income owner households have a severe housing <br />problem -- but, in absolute numerical terms, this translates to only 525 households, whereas the <br />extremely low income households with one or more severe housing problems total 2,670. In general, <br />the higher the income, the fewer the housing problems. Further, renters experience greater severe <br />housing problems than do owners. <br />3.
