6.3.A. - Page 125 <br />doesn't eliminate poverty, but the basic need of decent shelter must be met before people can strive for <br />self-sufficiency. <br />Through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public services funding, the City provides <br />grants to local nonprofit agencies that provide services that address the core needs of the community <br />and assist clients in developing greater self-sufficiency with the goal of breaking the cycle of <br />poverty.
