6.3.E. - Page 40 <br />training may be considered in making advancements and promotions. The Association may appoint a <br />member to meet with the Personnel Officer to plan, evaluate and recommend training programs. <br />16.16 Licenses and Certificates <br />Employees who are required by State or Federal agencies, or by job description, to be licensed or <br />certificated shall be reimbursed for the fees for such license or certificate, including other DMV licenses <br />above Class "C" required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. <br />16.17 Vacations <br />16.17.1 All regular full-time management unit employees shall be entitled to vacation leave from the <br />commencement of their employment with the City. <br />16.17.2 The time during the calendar year at which an employee shall take vacation shall be determined <br />by the department head with due regard to the wishes of the employee and with particular regard <br />to the needs of the service. During the period from March 1 through April 15 of each calendar <br />year, all employees shall, on a form provided by the City, indicate their preferences for vacation <br />periods. Preference of vacation date shall be given to employees according to their length of <br />service in as reasonable manner as possible. Each department will post a final vacation <br />schedule by April 30 of each year. Department Heads may apply an alternate vacation <br />scheduling procedure subject to mutual agreement between the City and RCMEA. <br />16.17.3 Full-time employees shall be entitled to accrue annual vacation leave as follows; <br />Upon date of hire through the fourth year of service, workers shall accrue vacation at a rate <br />(3.077 hours per pay period) that yields 80 hours of vacation per year, <br />The fifth year of service through the ninth year of service, workers will accrue vacation at a rate <br />(4.615 hours per pay period) that yields 120 hours of vacation per year. <br />The tenth year of service through the sixteenth year of service, workers will accrue vacation at a <br />rate (6.154 hours per pay period) that yields 160 hours of vacation per year. <br />The seventeenth year of service through the nineteenth year of service, workers will accrue <br />vacation at a rate (6.923 hours per pay period) that yields 180 hours of vacation per year. <br />The twentieth year of service and subsequent years of service, workers shall accrue vacation at <br />a rate (7.692 hours per pay period) that yields 200 hours of vacation per year. <br />16.17.4 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued vacation leave <br />computed through the pay period that includes the 31st of December, except upon written <br />authorization of the Personnel Officer. <br />16.17.5 Upon termination of employment an employee shall be paid cash value of his or her accrued <br />vacation leave at the time of the termination, in accordance with the above schedule. <br />16.18 Illness During Vacation <br />17 <br />
