<br />MIS: ClairelMurray to delete Item No. 10, "Amend the Second Unit Ordinance to <br />comply with State law. Increase the maximum size for second units and relax <br />parking requirements to decrease the number of covered parking spaces required <br />so that second units can be built to accomplish the purpose of the ordinance." <br /> <br />Motion failed by following roll call vote: <br />AYES: Council Members Buchan, Claire and Murray <br />NOES: Council Members Bury, Greenalch, Stangel and Mayor La Berge <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-223 <br /> <br />Mayor La Berge requested staff to advise Planning Commission to begin work on <br />changing the Second Unit Ordinance. <br /> <br />MEMO 10/22/91 <br /> <br />Diane Howard, 907 Katherine, Redwood City, Member of the Housing and Human <br />Concerns Committee, advised she was pleased that the Second Unit Ordinance <br />would be amended, and suggested the Council and the HHCC meet in a Study <br />Session to discuss it. <br /> <br />CDD Draft Mitigation Report, Item No. 10 continued <br /> <br />M/S: Murray/Claire to delete the first sentence only of Item No. 10, "Amend <br />the Second Unit ordinance to comply with State law." <br /> <br />Councilman Murray advised he believes the Redwood City Second Unit Ordinance <br />does comply with State law. <br /> <br />Motion carried by the following voice vote: <br />AYES: Council Members Buchan, Bury, Claire, Murray and Mayor La Berge <br />NOES: Councilman Greenalch and Stangel <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-224 <br /> <br />CDD Draft Mitigation Report, Item No. 10 continued <br /> <br />M/S: Greenalch/Claire to delete No. 11, directing City staff, Departments, <br />Commission's and Committees to reevaluate City requirements <br /> <br />Councilman Greenalch advised it was essential to deal with the realities <br />discussed, and the City needs effective ways to increase the housing stock that <br />was set in the General Plan, and Item No. 11 will not accomplish anything. <br /> <br />Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 91-225 <br /> <br />CDD Draft Mitigation Report, Item No. 13 <br /> <br />M/S: MurraylGreenalch to delete Item No. 13, to require a Housing <br />Affordability Impact Report <br /> <br />Regular Agenda Minutes <br />October 21, 1991 <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 50 <br />Page No. 383 <br /> <br />. <br />
