<br />B. City Manager Everett reported on the County's decision to go forward with <br />the San Bruno jail site and congratulated the Council on their work to <br />convince the County that Redwood City had done its fair share. <br />C. City Manager Everett congratulated Human Resources Director Irizarry for his <br />department's work on the very impressive New Employee Packet. Mayor La <br />Berge thanked Arlene Dobson of the Human Resources Department for her <br />special efforts. <br />D. A very happy Councilman Stangel announced that last week he flew to <br />Wisconsin to celebrate his father's 85th birthday, and that seven of the <br />eight children were in attendance. <br />E. Councilman Murray described the great hosting job done by Redwood City <br />International and the wonderful dinner arranged by Brent Britschgi at <br />Sequoia Hospital for the visiting delegation from Zhuhai, China, last week. <br />Mayor La Berge described the delegation's itinerary and advised that the <br />public would be asked to express their feelings regarding a sister city <br />relationship with Zhuhai, China. <br /> MEMO 1/14/92 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />7. Designation of "Official Newspaper" in the City of Redwood City <br />REPORT: City Clerk, January 13, 1992 <br />In response to Council questions, City Clerk Jorgenson summarized the bids <br />from the Redwood City Almanac and the Redwood City Tribune. <br />Gae Reck from the Redwood City Tribune addressed the Council regarding her <br />bid and advantages of Redwood City Tribune service. <br />A brief discussion ensued. <br />Title read.
