City Manager Everett addressed Council regarding Council correspondence advising the Mayor would continue to answer correspondence, with technical assistance from staff when necessary. In response to Council suggestions, City Manager Everett agreed that all correspondence would be acknowledged in a timely manner, including those that were being forwarded to an appropriate L~ department. City Manager Everett also advised that he had established a i citywide policy that all telephone calls are to be returned within 24 hours. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- B. Letter from Stephen J. Blumenkranz suggesting new uses for the now vacant Mayfair Hotel and Whipple Lodge City Attorney Schricker gave a brief status report of both properties and offered to respond to this letter on behalf of the Council. Letter from Regatta Homeowners Board regarding Sandpiper Park and Redwood City discussions with the Belmont School District Councilman Murray stated the best use of this property was in every Redwood City resident's best interest and hoped all groups would take an interest in community discussions. CONSENSUS: It was determined by the Mayor that it was the consensus of the Council Members that this item be referred to City Manager Everett and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Griffiths, and all interested parties be notified of future hearings. Councilman Greenalch reported that he and Councilman Bury will be attending the fourth meeting on the Downtown Parking Structure on January 23rd, and that Model No. 5 had been approved. Councilman Greenalch described staff working with First Interstate Bank, parking during construction issue resolution and discussions involving small area of bank owned land needed for parking structure. Councilman Bury described construction completion I goal by December 1992.
