Councilman Stangel reported on the Council of Cities meeting he and <br />Councilman Murray attended January 24th and advised that host cities were <br />needed. Mayor La Berge stated Redwood City would be pleased to host a <br />future Council of Cities meeting. <br />B. Councilman Murray advised that he and Councilwoman Buchan, members of the <br />Council Committee on Airport Noise, were scheduling a meeting for mid- <br />February with San Carlos Airport staff and Supervisor Griffin to arrange a <br />community meeting on airport noise to be held in March. <br />C. Councilman Murray, member of the County Bikeways Committee, complimented the <br />Redwood City Planning Division and specifically Senior Planner Gary Bonte <br />for the proposals to change the Redwood City General Plan to accommodate <br />more bike paths. Councilman Murray recapped previous Redwood City efforts <br />to receive grants for bike paths, and urged the City to become proactive in <br />its attempts to secure outside funding. <br />D. Councilman Bury described the barren appearance of the open space wetlands <br />area at the foot of Whipple, due to excessive disking, and asked staff to <br />investigate alternatives that would preserve the beauty and wildlife, while <br />eliminating the mosquitoes and other unwanted pests. <br /> MEMO 1/28/92 <br />E.
