276 <br />Councilman Petersen moved to reverse action of the Planning Commission and grant <br />rezoning by introducing Ordinance adding Section 60.2.22 to Ordinance No. 1130, the <br />Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property in the vicinity of Jefferson Avenue <br />and Utah Street (R-2), seconded by Councilmen Keckley and carried on roll call vote, <br />Councilman Granger, Henderson, Keckley, Petersen and Mayor Herkner voting yes, <br />Councilmen Bury and Rosselli voting no. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Weed Abatement Assessments, 1966-67, declared open and affidavits of <br />posting and publication ordered filed. Council was advised weeds were abated on 611 <br />parcels amounting to $19,146.51 to be posted to the Assessment Roll. Councilman <br />Rosselli expressed hope for better weed abatement program next year as he felt there <br />were still many parcels left with high weeds. Councilman Petersen requested Staff <br />check weed abatement on property at 611 Hopkins owned by Joseph C. Paiz to see that <br />better weed control is given during nedt year's program. (Memo 8/22/66) <br />There being no written or oral protests, Councilman Petersen moved to close the <br />public hearing, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5126 CONFIRMING REPORT OF SUPERIN- <br />TENDENT OF STREETS OF WEED ABATEMENT, OVERRULING PROTESTS THERETO AND AUTHORIZING <br />DELIVERY OF REPORT FOR THE ADDITION OF THE ASSESSMENT AMOUNTS TO NEXT REGUTA R TAX <br />BILLS AGAINST PARTICULAR PARCELS CONCERNED, seconded by Councilman Keckley and <br />carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />REPORT OF BID OPENING, Maple -Redwood Trunk Sewer, SS -2 <br />received: <br />W. SS -2; REJECTING ALL OTHER <br />BIDS RECEIVED; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING <br />RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS, seconded by Councilman Petersen. (W. H. Ebert Corp.) <br />On question Councilman Rosselli commented on meeting with contractors and discussion <br />concerning alternate bids for precast manholes and brick manholes, and expressed <br />his concern on extra work on this item as felt alternate bids unnecessary. Coun- <br />cilman Granger felt policy should be set by Staff or Council as to use of alternate <br />bids. Motion carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />
