(Memo 9/13/66) <br />Redwood City Civic Association expressing their gratitude for Council's <br />approving pedestrian overcrossing for Woodside Road. <br />Communication from County of San Mateo, over signature of County Manager <br />E. R. Stallings, regarding suggestions made by the County Board of Super- <br />visors concerning "Room Occupancy Tax." <br />Mayor Herkner stated, if there were no objections, he would answer this com- <br />munication on behalf of Council, and also suggest that this matter be discussed <br />at Council of Mayors' next meeting. (Memo 9/13/66) <br />Communication from Martin (Marty) Mohr thanking Council for his appointment <br />to the Planning Commission and assuring Council of his best efforts in this <br />capacity. <br />Request from City of Santa Maria for Council's support in adopting a resolu- <br />tion similar to that of copy enclosed urging State action to correct the <br />existing inequities which are developing through interpretation of present <br />legislation regarding the Field Act on school buildings. <br />Council requested this communication be acknowledged and tabled. <br />Communication from Fred T. Gates, 3871 Vineyard Drive, urging immediate <br />action for adoption of a grading ordinance. <br />City Manager reported considerable work has been done in preparing this Grading <br />Ordinance and several meetings had been held with contractors and builders <br />associations and their desire to review the draft form of the ordinance before <br />its presentation to Council in final form. He assured Council it was being <br />worked on and should be ready for presentation in the near future. Council <br />requested communication be acknowledged with information available. Council- <br />man Rosselli asked whether Ordinance could be presented for action within <br />four weeks (October 10) with draft submitted for study before that time. <br />(Memo 9/13/66) <br />
