828 <br />Minutes of Regular Weekly Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />October 24, 1966 8:00 P. M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Keckley. <br />Invocation led by Reverend William Light, St. Peter's Episcopal Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Mary W. <br />Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. <br />Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Robert H. Bury noted absent, <br />(entered meeting at 8:55 p.m. -attended another meeting at request of Mayor Herkner.) <br />Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard <br />Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William Faulstich, <br />Fire Chief J. L. Lodi (entered meeting at 10:15 p.m.) Director of Public Works J. <br />Louis Scherer, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, <br />Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve Minutes of Regular Monthly Study Meeting of <br />October 10, 1966, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Council was advised Attorney for the District had reported that a delayed publication <br />from his office on the Lexington Avenie Improvement District will require the <br />resetting of the public hearing which had been scheduled for this time. Councilman <br />Rosselli announced he would abstain from action on this item because of personal <br />interests. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5169 BEING RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY <br />DETERMINATION, LEXINGTON AVENUE AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS, (sets public hearing for <br />November 7th) seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote, Coun- <br />cilman Rosselli abstaining, Councilman Bury being noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to vacate easement for drainagepurposes, including <br />right to enter for maintenance and cleaning of channel, Lots 10 and 11, of Embar- <br />cadero Subdivision (Melvin S. Koppel) declared open and affidavits of publication <br />and posting ordered filed. Staff reported this easement no longer needed as creek <br />channel has been realigned. There being no communications or oral protest, Coun- <br />cilman Rosselli moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Petersen <br />and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5170 VACATING AND ABANDONING <br />EASEMENT FOR DRAINAGE PURPOSES, INCLUDING RIGHT TO ENTER FOR MAINTENANCE AND <br />CLEANING OF CHANNEL, IN LOTS 10 AND 11 OF EMBARCADERO SUBDIVISION, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Bury being noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to abandon portion of a public street (por. of <br />Bradford Street) declared open and affidavits of publication and posting ordered <br />filed. Staff report stated parcel to be abandoned consists of a triangle on north <br />side of Bradford Street, abutting Kaiser Hospital site, necessary for use as their <br />emergency entrance. There being no communications or oral protest, Councilman <br />Rosselli moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5171 ABANDONING PORTION OF BRADFORD <br />STREET, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION % STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, <br />Councilman Bury being noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Consideration of revocation of Use Permit for the operation of an auto <br />repair and sales establishment at 2535 Middlefield Road, Charles W. Woods, declared <br />
