Hard and <br />digital (AutoCAD) copies of the topographic base mapping will be prepared and <br />provided for City records. <br />Task 3 — INITIAL DESIGN (50% AND 75% DESIGN SUBMITTAL) <br />The initial design will be used as the basis for the development of the Final <br />Design. The tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Task 3.1 — Basis of Desion Memorandum <br />The Wood Rodgers Team will prepare for review a Basis of Design <br />Memorandum to summarize findings and recommendations for each deficiency <br />in each Alternative Reach. The Memorandum shall include at the minimum: <br />a) Structural and geotechnical criteria to be used for design <br />b) And the Refined Improvements Matrix that will include: <br />1. Identified channel deficiencies where additional geotechnical <br />exploration will be required <br />2. A description of deficiencies within each reach <br />3. The underlying cause of each deficiency <br />4. The recommended required repair or replacement to <br />address underlying cause (e.g. long term solution) <br />5. A recommended repair or replacement if different from 4 <br />(e.g. short term solution if long term solution is impractical or <br />cost prohibitive). <br />6. A priority of each repair or replacement based on potential <br />impact to operation and public safety. This prioritization will <br />remain as consistent as possible with the 2012 Deficiency <br />Report. <br />The Wood Rodgers Team will coordinate with the City's previous consultants <br />regarding previous creek observations when necessary. Wood Rodgers will <br />pursue all avenues to communicate with previous consultants regarding previous <br />creek observations in order to leverage existing data, clarify report results, and <br />minimize duplication of services. <br />Task 3.2 — Geotechnical Reports <br />The Wood Rodgers Team will define the need for geotechnical assessment for <br />each repair based on observations of channel deficiencies during initial site visits <br />and recommendations outlined in the Basis of Design Memorandum. It is <br />anticipated that geotechnical exploration will be required for areas where <br />replacement of rectangular concrete channel is needed, and/or there is limited <br />right-of-way to complete concrete channel replacement and temporary shoring <br />will likely be required. Based on the site assessment completed by previous <br />consultants and current repair recommendations for the creek sections this will <br />require exploration at one location along Reach 1, and one location along Reach <br />2. <br />REV: 12.01-16 RL <br />Page 17 of 23 <br />ATTY/AGR.2016.325/Wood Rodgers, Inc. <br />
