418 <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1287 APPROPRIATING $21,000 FROM <br />UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SALES TAX CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND TO PROVIDE FOR FURNISH- <br />ING OF MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING, COMMUNITY PARK, AND LANDSCAPING, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Bury and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5241 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />NEW AUTOMOBILE AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by <br />Councilman Keckley. Staff reported this automobile was to replace car assigned <br />to the Water Superintendent and which had been demolished in an accident, costs <br />to be paid from insurance coverage and the accrued amortization. Motion carried <br />on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to refer proposed Cordilleras -Upland -Upton Annexation to <br />Planning Commission for review and report as is required by Annexation Act of <br />1913 governing inhabited annexations, seconded by Councilman Henderson and <br />carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-9) <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt <br />NO. 5242 BEING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION <br />TO ABANDON A PORTION OF A PUBLIC STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, <br />STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA; SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR <br />HEARING ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; AND, <br />ORDERING POSTING OF NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED VACATION, seconded by Councilman <br />Henderson. (Sets public hearing for February 13, 1967) <br />Staff report stated this abandonment concerns an unneeded strip of land acquired <br />in 1960 for right-of-way for the extension of Tacoma Way, and that in exchanging <br />parcels with adjacent property owners, Staff had agreed to recommend vacation of <br />this strip of land. Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5243 REQUESTING PERMISSION OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON <br />CERTAIN STATE HIGHWAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger. Councilman Rosselli questioned necessity of this parking restriction <br />and barrier at this proposed site. He asked whether it would be possible to buy <br />additional land for right-of-way to allow additional parking. City Manager <br />advised this was only an interim measure and would be eventually restored when <br />Woodside Road widened. Director of Public Works advised some restricted parking <br />would also be necessary after widening of Woodside Road for signalization channels. <br />Police Chief advised that Traffic Engineer -had contacted those businesses along <br />this section proposed for restricted parking and majority indicated benefit of <br />signalization outweighed restricted parking. He advised he didn't believe it <br />would be possible to achieve signalization on any other basis. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 5244 DIRECTING CITY MANAGER TO <br />PROHIBIT VEHICULAR PARKING ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (subject <br />to receipt of written approval by State Department of Public Works) seconded by <br />Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call vote. <br />
