X10
Councilman Keckley moved to accept Redwood Creek Channel Improvements, SD -2, GID 1-65
subject to usual guarantees of workmanship and materials, as recommended by Staff
seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-10)
Accounts Payable, Nos. 59272 to 59531 inclusive, totaling $597,589.20, were approved on
motion of Councilman Bury, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Petition signed by some 10 property owners submitted to Councilman Bury and
addressed to City Council, protesting noise from trucks delivering all through
the night to the Purity Store located in the Roosevelt shopping center, besides
scavenger trucks on pick up service during the early hours of the morning. They
indicated their residences in an R-1 zone deserved consideration with respect to
hours for such deliveries.
City Attorney advised Council an amendment to the present ordinance requiring deliv-
eries in CN zones at more suitable hours, would merit consideration, also requir-
ing garbage pick-ups in commercial neighborhood on same schedule as residential.
Mayor Herkner ordered this be referred to Staff for investigation and recommenda-
tion to be made to Council in two weeks, (January 23rd) (Memo 1/10/67).
Paul Tessendorff, 45 Claremont, communication to Park
Superintendent, copy for Council's attention, on his
enjoyment of park strip at El Camino and Claremont and
efforts of Park Department for its upkeep.
Communication from Don S. Wilson, County Engineer, in
answer to Council's request through Resolution No. 5064
requesting a flood control program in the Atherton Creek water-
shed, and advising there appeared to be no present pros-
pects for adoption of a watershed -wide program (communica-
tion previously submitted to Council.)
Councilman Rosselli moved that a letter of appreciation for his services be sent on
behalf of the Council to Captain Brooks on his resignation from the Fire Depart-
ment, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-11)
Councilman Rosselli requested discussion of distribution of City -County Highway Funds
at next Council meeting as it would appear northern part of County was getting
more than their equitable share. (Memo 1/10/67)
Councilman Granger asked appointments to Veterans Memorial Commission be placed on
Council's next Agenda. (Memo 1/10/67)
Mayor Herkner asked that John Weare be considered as a candidate for this Commission.
Councilman Granger moved to adjourn by adopting RESOLUTION NO. 5245 COMMEMORATING THE
MEMORY OF ANTHONY L. CORAZZINI, Water Department Employee, seconded by Councilman
Petersen and carried on roll call vote. Meeting adjourned at 12:20 a.m.
HELEN C. MOORE, City Clerk
