N <br />Councilman Keckley moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating sum of $13,923 <br />from Unappropriated Balance of Budget Reserves of General Fund to provide for <br />purchase of Materials, Supplies and Services, Street Maintenance, seconded by <br />Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1306 REPEALING SECTION 20.97.2 OF <br />THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO PARKING ON MAIN STREET. <br />(Repeals parking prohibition on Main Street between Chestnut Street and E1 Camino <br />Real) seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call vote, Councilman <br />Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1307 AMENDING SECTIONS 3 and 7 OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1305 RELATING TO THE CHARGES AND RATES ESTABLISHED FOR CAT SYSTEM <br />FRANCHISE (deletes permission to charge $1.00 for the converter) seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being <br />noted absent. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1130.68 ADDING SECTION 60.3.17 TO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1130, THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, PREZONING A PORTION OF LOT <br />2, HILL KNOWLES SUBDIVISION, BEING THE AREA IN THE VICINITY OF BAY ROAD, DOUGLAS <br />AVENUE AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RIGHT OF WAY (Falk Annexation property) seconded <br />by Councilman Bury and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being <br />noted absent. <br />DAMAGE CLAIMS: (1) Top Five, Inc., San C­rlos, for property damages alleged to have <br />been caused by a City vehicle; (2) Alexander Thomas, 2364 Cooley, East Palo <br />Alto, for personal damages alleged to have been caused by City's unlawful releasing <br />of claimant's truck, denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion of Coun- <br />cilman Keckley, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67A & B) <br />Council's consideration of supporting Elementary School District Bond Issue, as <br />requested by Mayor Herkner and Councilman Keckley. <br />Councilman Bury announced that Councilman Rosselli had personally requested that <br />this matter be continued for one week because of his inability to be present at <br />this meeting and his desire to participate in this action. Councilman Keckley <br />indicated he had no objection to continuing this item, but commented on the fact <br />that from the statement made by Councilman Rosselli at the previous Council meeting <br />he could be expected to support the measure. <br />Mayor Herkner stated Council's support of this matter in order to be effective <br />should not be delayed because election set in two weeks, April 18th. At request <br />of Councilman Henderson Resolution was read in full, urging approval by the elec- <br />torate of the bond measure proposed in the amount of $6,250,000. <br />Councilman Keckley urged Council action be taken at this meeting to show support <br />of this measure. Councilman Bury concurred with need of action but again presented <br />Councilman Rosselli's request for continuance of Council's action until next week. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5334 URGING SUPPORT OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOND ELECTION, seconded by Councilman Bury. <br />Councilman Granger expressed his opinion concerning need for Council to set a <br />policy on responsibility and authority of taking action on such community issues <br />as proposed. Mayor Herkner suggested desirability of an "ad hoc" Council <br />Committee being appointed to study Council policy on this subject. (Memo 4/4/67) <br />AM 3 '67 <br />
