1. City Librarian had advised that ground breaking <br />ceremonies of Schaberg Branch Library had been <br />scheduled for 1:30 Thursday, April 20th, and <br />invited Council members to participate. <br />2. Reported that sale of "Centennial buttons" to City <br />Employees had reached the 300 mark, indicating almost <br />a 100% participation by employees, in addition to <br />buttons sold by the Council. <br />3. Reported on invitation again extended to Chief Faulstich <br />from Uniform Crime Record Committee to attend their <br />meeting in New Orleans and for which they would pay all <br />expenses. He expressed the honor he felt this to be and <br />recognition of work which had been done by the Police <br />Chief with this national group and recommended Council <br />approve his attendance, May 15-16, Council congratulated <br />Chief Faulstich and stated it is an honor that he be asked <br />to attend this meeting. <br />Mayor Herkner reminded those present of School Board election to be held April 18th, <br />and urged all to vote. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 5347 COMMEMORATING <br />THE MEMORY OF DR, ROBERT EDWARD HUGHES FARQUHARSON, a noted anesthesiologist and <br />physician, resident of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried <br />on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli beint noted absent. <br />Councilman Petersen questioned a policy determination which was recommended by Council <br />members as to actions to be taken by Council on commemorating resolutions. <br />(Memo 4/18/67) <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:4o P. Thorlaksson, Messiah Lutheran Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, <br />Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were <br />City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. Gardella, Assistant City <br />Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Captain Joel Mansfield, Planning Director Ken <br />Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Recreation Director A. S. <br />Morton, Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk <br />Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting Of April 17, 1967, <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. <br />Certificates of Distinguished Service presented by Mayor Herkner, on behalf of Council, <br />to retiring members of Park & Recreation Commission, Alyn Beals and Jasper <br />Sipes with expressions of appreciation for their services to the community by <br />their membership on this Commission. <br />Loyalty Oaths administered and Certificates of Appointment presented to Robert <br />Whitmore, reappointed to the Commission, and newly appointed Commissioners, <br />Dixon Arnett and James S.
