1. City Librarian had advised that ground breaking ceremonies of Schaberg Branch Library had been scheduled for 1:30 Thursday, April 20th, and invited Council members to participate. 2. Reported that sale of "Centennial buttons" to City Employees had reached the 300 mark, indicating almost a 100% participation by employees, in addition to buttons sold by the Council. 3. Reported on invitation again extended to Chief Faulstich from Uniform Crime Record Committee to attend their meeting in New Orleans and for which they would pay all expenses. He expressed the honor he felt this to be and recognition of work which had been done by the Police Chief with this national group and recommended Council approve his attendance, May 15-16, Council congratulated Chief Faulstich and stated it is an honor that he be asked to attend this meeting. Mayor Herkner reminded those present of School Board election to be held April 18th, and urged all to vote. Councilman Keckley moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 5347 COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF DR, ROBERT EDWARD HUGHES FARQUHARSON, a noted anesthesiologist and physician, resident of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli beint noted absent. Councilman Petersen questioned a policy determination which was recommended by Council members as to actions to be taken by Council on commemorating resolutions. Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Petersen. Invocation led by Reverend S. 0. Thorlaksson, Messiah Lutheran Church. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Captain Joel Mansfield, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Recreation Director A. S. Morton, Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting Of April 17, 1967, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. Certificates of Distinguished Service presented by Mayor Herkner, on behalf of Council, to retiring members of Park & Recreation Commission, Alyn Beals and Jasper Sipes with expressions of appreciation for their services to the community by their membership on this Commission. Loyalty Oaths administered and Certificates of Appointment presented to Robert Whitmore, reappointed to the Commission, and newly appointed Commissioners, Dixon Arnett and James S. Williams. Continued PUBLIC HEARING, Appeal of Ad -Art Inc., on behalf of Challenge Development, Inc., for proposed sign to be located at Oddstad Drive and Hansen Way, for which approval has been denied by the Building Official, declared open.
